Everything you read online says the same thing: “Always go OEM. Always rebuild. Never cut corners.”
Sounds great in a textbook. In practice—with a $15,000-per-hour downtime cost and a client waiting on crushed aggregate—it’s way more complicated.
I’ve been coordinating emergency repairs for mining and quarry operations for about eight years now. In my role managing parts logistics for a mid-sized contractor, I’ve handled over 200 rush orders for Sandvik equipment alone. Some were straightforward. Some were nightmares.
